-AlexTorpey.com: Six Steps to Open Government
1. Attendance and voting records of all elected officials must be available in a prominently viewable and searchable, accessible online format, for example under each officials’ bio page.
STATUS: NONEXISTENT (and never mentioned since the campaign)
2. Lay out a strategic plan to publish and make easily accessible and searchable online all documents that are currently available by physical acquisition through current OPRA (Open Public Records Act) laws
STATUS: NONEXISTENT (and never mentioned since the campaign- most likely because it would be impossible to put all emails, text messages and correspondence online without massive increases in staff)
3. A commitment to proactively seek the creativity, passion and ideas of our community through whatever means necessary, and developing and utilizing existing online platforms to expand the ways in which people can get involved, share ideas and give feedback
STATUS: NONEXISTENT (and so vague it could mean anything)
4. Creating a more welcoming physical space in Village Hall that invites residents to be more hands-on in their participation
STATUS: NONEXISTENT (during the planning for the Village Hall renovation, Alex Torpey's only input was to ensure that the Village President had an office)
5. As Village President, I will hold open office hours to meet with any and all residents, students and business owners, and will encourage my colleagues on the Board to do the same
STATUS: COMPLETE
6. As Village President, I will give regular concise video updates to the community about the work the Board is doing and how residents can get involved and provide feedback and ideas
STATUS: NO LONGER DONE since September 2011
